PE Games: Nothing but the Fun Stuff (2nd-5th)

For this class, we will be teaching some of the old school PE games. This class will include kickball volleyball, capture the flag and fleeing and dodging games!

 

LEGO Spike Essential Robotics (K-5th)

Get ready for a fun, hands-on experience with Lego SPIKE Robotics! In this course, children will have the chance to unleash their creativity and bring their STEAM ideas to life through hands-on projects using everyday themes. By combining the use of Lego bricks, a multi-port Hub, and programming with Scratch, children of all learning levels will have the opportunity to build and code their very own robots. With the use of the latest codable hubs, cameras, motion sensors, tilting sensors, poles and axles, children will be able to create robots that dance, mimic, follow routes, and even drive themselves. Each lesson will focus on building a robot that serves a practical purpose in daily life, while also developing crucial skills such as literacy, math, and coding skills.

 

 

Young Philanthropists (K-5th)

Students will internalize the benefits of doing well and doing good, by reviewing a number of charities and discussing the merits of giving back. Students will collaborate in small teams to select a charity or issue they feel passionate about and come up with practical ways that they can support that cause (including raising awareness, volunteering and fundraising), then they will create their own mock foundation!

 

Viva Violin (K-5th)

Students will participate in a music group. Students will learn about the instrument as well as how to play in a music group.   

 

FREE Rental instrument and curriculum included!  Instruments and music are intended for in class AND at home practice.  Rental Instrument must be returned at the last class.

 

Awesome Art (K-5th)

If you think art is awesome, this is the class for you! We’ll explore all the coolest art materials as we learn drawing techniques, create with clay, and paint on real canvas boards. We’ll even create a beach scene out of real candy! Art really is awesome!

 

Electrical Engineering Explorers: Hands-On Adventures for Young Innovators (K-5th)

Join 'Electrical Engineering Explorers' for K-6th graders! Spark your child's curiosity with hands-on activities in circuits, DIY flashlights, and renewable energy. Led by experienced instructors, kids learn while having fun, developing critical thinking and teamwork skills. Let your child explore the electrifying world of engineering today!


THURSDAYS

Basketball (2nd-5th)

During this club, we will be learning all the skills and fundamentals for basketball . We will start out with skills and drills and work our way up to modified gameplay. Please make sure you have sneakers for this club.

 

Spy Science (K-5th)

How do detectives and investigators use science to solve a mystery? We will spend this program understanding forensic science and learning the tricks of the spy trade. We'll investigate fingerprints, spying techniques (surveillance), secret codes, invisible ink, and other sneaky science!

 

Fall Global Flavors: A World of Fall Delights (K-5th)

Your kids will have a blast cooking up and devouring our exciting, tasty, and healthy recipes. Our interactive classes incorporate S.T.E.A.M., culture, language, and more, led by our experienced Chef Instructors. Allergies are always accommodated and our plant-forward recipes are nut-free. Explore our lineup of ever changing weekly recipes and join us to WHIP up some culinary fun all year! Our cooking classes are perfect for all ages!

 

Lights, Camera, Action (K-5th)

Join 'Lights, Camera, Action!' for K-6th graders! Kids explore filmmaking, storytelling, and digital media. From creating their own mini-movies to recording storytelling podcasts, this course sparks creativity and builds communication skills. Let your child shine on screen today

Chess (K-5th)

Learn chess with Magnus Academy (formerly Silver Knights), world champion Magnus Carlsen’s academy!  We’ve taught 100,000 children to play including state and national champions, but most students are beginners looking to learn a new skill and have FUN. Class time is divided between lessons and practice games.  Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced tournament strategies.

Students will have the opportunity to play in tournaments (in-person and online) outside of club time.  This in-person club includes free online extras including weekly practice tournaments and an event with world champion Magnus Carlsen or Judit Polgar, the best female chess player of all time.  All chess supplies provided. Martial Arts (K-5th)

Kwon's Champion Martial Arts School is the longest running martial arts school in Gainesville, VA. They are well known not only for teaching great martial arts but also teaching students to gain better focus, discipline, respect for others, and learning how to listen better to their parents and teachers.
